ER VISIT

In the middle of the Hurricane Ike craziness our little Brooky started coming down with a cold. The cold quickly turned into a bad upper resporatory infection and then to Croup. Last weekend we took her in to the ER when she could literally barely breath, it was so scary I can not even explain it. The scariest part was signing in at the Emergency Room and them not even letting us sit down, we were sent straight back and had a Dr and a resporatory Specialist in the room within five minutes. They gave her steroids and motrin then ended up releasing her a couple hours later.

Sunday came around and by about 12:00 Brooklyn was worse off then the night before. Chad immedialy took her to the hospiatl again. They brought her straight back to the dr just like the night before. We lucked out that we got the same dr who had previously seen her, he gave hersome more Steroids and started the process of admiting her. Around 6:00 am Chad and Brooklyn were finally in there hospiatl room. Brooklyn had to stay in a little mist tent the entore time, she also had a IV placed on the top of her hand...after they had allready tried to get one at her elbow :(. She was finally released Tuesday about 9:00 pm, and so far has done ok.

OH~! and to top it off, I had a call from my sister on Monday when Brooky was still in the hospital telling me Kaylee was having trouble breathing!!!! Ya, that's right...I almost had a breakdown, but I took her to the dr for steroids while Chad stayed with Brooklyn at the Hospital. Luckily the meds worked on Kaylee unlike Brooky.

Thanks for all the calls of encouragement and help. I could not have made it with out my friends and family.

Vacation Lost

The Chapel at 7F, this is such a beautiful place.

The Aggie Cabin had a private Tub on the screened porch
Chad and I at Kyle Field for Yell Practice

Well our fridge food and our power were not the only things we lost due to the hurricane. We also lost or chance to go on our yearly Adults only vacation at the river. We all have been looking forward to this time away for some time now, we even texted back and forth counting down the days. Sadly the lack of power ruined this vaca for us, we could not even think of leaving our kids for 4 days straight with no power. We did however get to make a quick 2 night trip to Colege Station to our fav B&B 7f Lodge. Erin and Mike came up to join us and we had a blast. We even had a chance to go to Midnight Yell Practice (The Aggie Pep Rally). Below are some pic's of the B&B and the 2 cottages/cabins we stayed in.

After IKE~

We made it through IKE! It was extremley windy and our elec went out atmy parents house about 1:00am. Chad and my mom were up pretty much all night looking at the weather. The winds stayed steady untill about 1:00pm, the rain was going sideways at many points. We drove through my parents neighborhood several times and saw HUGE trees down everywhere, one was all the way through someones garage.

We did not have any flooding where we were but we did have a Massive tree fall in front of our garage door at our apts. We literally can not get into our garage or front door with out going under the tree. CRAZY, we usually park there.

We are now in Dallas, we drove up on Saturday about 4:30, we are storm chassers I guess...but we made it to Nanny's house about 9:30. It is very ince to have power since all the reports say we can be without in Houston for 3 days to 2 weeks! Yuck!

7 years since...

It is the 7 year anniversary of Chad's horrible motorcross accident 9/12/01. I can not believe it has been that long! It seems like yesterday when this heart wrenching accident happened. I can literally remember everything from that follwing week, hour by hour.

I want to Thank marilyn (Chad's mom) soooo much for being there with me through everything, I feel like we can get through anything life throws at us together.

Before IKE

Our Bunker

Well here we are... we decided to brave the storm! I think we are a little more afraid of the 5 hour car ride with our sick girls if we decided to evacuate to Dallas! We live on the North side of Houston (Spring, Woodlands Area) and we are expecting 85 mile an hour sustained winds and gust up to 125 miles an hour. Galveston just had the edge of the storm hit a few minutes ago and basically the entire town is in bad shape. Not sure how much will be left after its over.

IH 45 Yesterday!

Below is an article of what our area will be looking at.

INLAND HARRIS COUNTY, WHARTON COUNTY, LIBERTY COUNTY, MONTGOMERY COUNTY, COLORADO COUNTY, AUSTIN COUNTY, FORT BEND COUNTY
“Inland, it looks like we’re going to get a core of hurricane-force winds come right up I-45, right through the heart of the Houston area,” Paul said.
A large part of that area will have winds sustained at hurricane force – between 74 and 95 mph.
“Right now, looking at Colorado County, Austin County, you might be a little far enough west to get out of those hurricane-force winds,” Paul said.
But for the rest of those people, there will probably be power outages, damaged trees and a lot of rain.

We have boarded up my parents house and have everything ready that we can. If we loose power for a long period of time we will head to Dallas. I will keep everyone updated as much as possible.

Galveston Island

The Sea Wall in Galveston. This concrete wall is about 15 feet from the beach. I hav never even seen water up to the bottom of the sea wall.

BIG WEEK !

WOW... I can not believe it is ONLY wednesday! We have had one hectic week so far. First was the Hurricane scare...pointless, I think we had 30 minutes of rain and Brooklyn played in it the whole time. Next we had Mothers Day Out start back up on Tuesday. The girls did GREAT, neither one of them cried and Brooklyn even took a nap on her nap pad (first time).

Today we had the most anticipated Dance Class ever, Kaylee had been talking about her new class for over a week and had tried on all her new leotards. She looked sooo cute and started off a little shy, a couple minutes into it she started doing her thing but..... it quickly went down hill, FAST! She cried her eyes out for the rest of the class, I am not kidding, 25 minutes of screaming. I have a new respect for her teacher, she just carried on with the class and continued to cheer Kaylee up. Kaylee keeps telling me she won't cry next time, I will update with how the next one goes.

Other things new to our lives is Chad's new girlfriend... well at least it is feeling that way! He is gone riding on his new 4 wheeler as much as possible. He leaves about 10:00pm and will stay out untill 4:00 or 5:00am. I really have no idea how he makes through a work day after that kind of night. I have to say it is a VERY COOL 4 wheeler and we will get our money out of it.

Kaylee also got a new toy..she has been wanting to get a bike for a while and as usual I could not wait untill Christmas or her birthday! She loves it and does not even mind wearing her helmet. She has not mastered the pedaling part yet but she can push it on her tippy toes.
