White Christmas in Texas

Even though we did get a little bit of unexpected snow before Christmas my little munchkins decided that was not enough! They went ahead and decided to create there own version of a white Christamas in the comfort of there living room.

I have no idea how they figured out how to remove all the batting from the inside of the couch cushions but they sure did it! Ya!

A Day As A Working Mom...

Monday's are always pretty crazy for anyone, and my day started around 7:00am, I was up dressed and out of the house with both girls heading to my mom's house by 7:30. I had heard about an accident on the radio and knew I needed to go the back way to work. I got to work about 5 minutes late..not bad considering everything I needed to do within an hour. Had a pretty decent Monday at work which is a nice change every since I changed jobs. Left work at 4:30 so I could get the girls before rush hour, sadly I did not here about the wreck I was heading into. The entire feeder rd was shut down and set me back an extra hour getting to my moms, so much for getting home early.
Finally reached my moms to find Kaylee and Brooklyn in the tub. Kaylee pooped in her pants (we are still potty training) and decided to take them off and rub the poop on Brooklyn! YUCK! Kaylee also was in a bad mood and had not listened to my mom all day. Ofcourse she did not change her ATTITUDE once I got there and had several spankens. NICE!
I finally left to go home so I could cook, Chad met me at the house and we had a great dinner, no big issues. We were grabbing pj's when Kaylee once again was not listening and fell off her grocery cart into her bed face first. She busted her nose, which I am sure she will have two black eyes (pic's to follow). We were in the middle of getting her nose to stop bleeding when Brooklyn started coughing in the living room and then PUCKED everywhere. Chad rushed her into the bath, I finished up with Kaylee and we quickly put them in the saftey of there beds.
WOW.... I really can not even comprehend what happened today, and I am thinking thats a good thing.

Everyone knows that my little Brooky Bear loves to eat, she will literally eat anything you put in front of her. Here are a couple picks of my little pigglet at her favorite time of day!

~MHR FRIDAY~

It has been a while since I have posted anything and expecially on MHR Friday!! As usual things have been insane, but I know I have to start making sure this is higher on my "To Do" list. So that being said My Husband Rocks because he is just plain awesome! Since we moved I have had more "ME" time than I can remember. I have gone shopping, running errands and out for drinks with friends and each time he is fine with helping out with the girls.
The other great thing is we have really tried to make this house our home. He has not given me any grief for keeping him up on his feet on his only day off putting pictures on the wall or lights on the house for the holidays. I can't tell you how much I appreciate these HUGE things along with the everyday things you do!
Thanks Babe!

Moving Day....

Well we finally moved, actually we moved about 3 weeks ago but as most of you know it is slightly hectic!, so this is the earliest I had a chance to update. We had one day to move and since then have had 2 days off together to get everything else in order, but we did it.

The girls love the new house, I just finished deocrating Kaylee's room (it's black and pink) and will start looking for things for Brooklyn's room. We still need to get the couch and TV for the updtairs game room. We also have several things to do in the yard, additional sod, burn our cleared trees, make beds and extend the back patio. All in time, or when we have extra cash!

Here are some pic's hopefully we will get a chance to have everyone over to see our new digs...untill then, enjoy!

Pumpkin Heads

Yesterday my mom and I took the girls to the Pumpkin Patch in Spring, we had a chance to catch the hay ride, climb on pumpkins, take pic's and go down the slide! The girls were exhausted by the time we left, each barely had enough strength to carry there small pumpkin or as Kaylee calls them "pumpkin heads".

ER VISIT

In the middle of the Hurricane Ike craziness our little Brooky started coming down with a cold. The cold quickly turned into a bad upper resporatory infection and then to Croup. Last weekend we took her in to the ER when she could literally barely breath, it was so scary I can not even explain it. The scariest part was signing in at the Emergency Room and them not even letting us sit down, we were sent straight back and had a Dr and a resporatory Specialist in the room within five minutes. They gave her steroids and motrin then ended up releasing her a couple hours later.

Sunday came around and by about 12:00 Brooklyn was worse off then the night before. Chad immedialy took her to the hospiatl again. They brought her straight back to the dr just like the night before. We lucked out that we got the same dr who had previously seen her, he gave hersome more Steroids and started the process of admiting her. Around 6:00 am Chad and Brooklyn were finally in there hospiatl room. Brooklyn had to stay in a little mist tent the entore time, she also had a IV placed on the top of her hand...after they had allready tried to get one at her elbow :(. She was finally released Tuesday about 9:00 pm, and so far has done ok.

OH~! and to top it off, I had a call from my sister on Monday when Brooky was still in the hospital telling me Kaylee was having trouble breathing!!!! Ya, that's right...I almost had a breakdown, but I took her to the dr for steroids while Chad stayed with Brooklyn at the Hospital. Luckily the meds worked on Kaylee unlike Brooky.

Thanks for all the calls of encouragement and help. I could not have made it with out my friends and family.

Vacation Lost

The Chapel at 7F, this is such a beautiful place.

The Aggie Cabin had a private Tub on the screened porch
Chad and I at Kyle Field for Yell Practice

Well our fridge food and our power were not the only things we lost due to the hurricane. We also lost or chance to go on our yearly Adults only vacation at the river. We all have been looking forward to this time away for some time now, we even texted back and forth counting down the days. Sadly the lack of power ruined this vaca for us, we could not even think of leaving our kids for 4 days straight with no power. We did however get to make a quick 2 night trip to Colege Station to our fav B&B 7f Lodge. Erin and Mike came up to join us and we had a blast. We even had a chance to go to Midnight Yell Practice (The Aggie Pep Rally). Below are some pic's of the B&B and the 2 cottages/cabins we stayed in.

After IKE~

We made it through IKE! It was extremley windy and our elec went out atmy parents house about 1:00am. Chad and my mom were up pretty much all night looking at the weather. The winds stayed steady untill about 1:00pm, the rain was going sideways at many points. We drove through my parents neighborhood several times and saw HUGE trees down everywhere, one was all the way through someones garage.

We did not have any flooding where we were but we did have a Massive tree fall in front of our garage door at our apts. We literally can not get into our garage or front door with out going under the tree. CRAZY, we usually park there.

We are now in Dallas, we drove up on Saturday about 4:30, we are storm chassers I guess...but we made it to Nanny's house about 9:30. It is very ince to have power since all the reports say we can be without in Houston for 3 days to 2 weeks! Yuck!

7 years since...

It is the 7 year anniversary of Chad's horrible motorcross accident 9/12/01. I can not believe it has been that long! It seems like yesterday when this heart wrenching accident happened. I can literally remember everything from that follwing week, hour by hour.

I want to Thank marilyn (Chad's mom) soooo much for being there with me through everything, I feel like we can get through anything life throws at us together.

Before IKE

Our Bunker

Well here we are... we decided to brave the storm! I think we are a little more afraid of the 5 hour car ride with our sick girls if we decided to evacuate to Dallas! We live on the North side of Houston (Spring, Woodlands Area) and we are expecting 85 mile an hour sustained winds and gust up to 125 miles an hour. Galveston just had the edge of the storm hit a few minutes ago and basically the entire town is in bad shape. Not sure how much will be left after its over.

IH 45 Yesterday!

Below is an article of what our area will be looking at.

INLAND HARRIS COUNTY, WHARTON COUNTY, LIBERTY COUNTY, MONTGOMERY COUNTY, COLORADO COUNTY, AUSTIN COUNTY, FORT BEND COUNTY
“Inland, it looks like we’re going to get a core of hurricane-force winds come right up I-45, right through the heart of the Houston area,” Paul said.
A large part of that area will have winds sustained at hurricane force – between 74 and 95 mph.
“Right now, looking at Colorado County, Austin County, you might be a little far enough west to get out of those hurricane-force winds,” Paul said.
But for the rest of those people, there will probably be power outages, damaged trees and a lot of rain.

We have boarded up my parents house and have everything ready that we can. If we loose power for a long period of time we will head to Dallas. I will keep everyone updated as much as possible.

Galveston Island

The Sea Wall in Galveston. This concrete wall is about 15 feet from the beach. I hav never even seen water up to the bottom of the sea wall.

BIG WEEK !

WOW... I can not believe it is ONLY wednesday! We have had one hectic week so far. First was the Hurricane scare...pointless, I think we had 30 minutes of rain and Brooklyn played in it the whole time. Next we had Mothers Day Out start back up on Tuesday. The girls did GREAT, neither one of them cried and Brooklyn even took a nap on her nap pad (first time).

Today we had the most anticipated Dance Class ever, Kaylee had been talking about her new class for over a week and had tried on all her new leotards. She looked sooo cute and started off a little shy, a couple minutes into it she started doing her thing but..... it quickly went down hill, FAST! She cried her eyes out for the rest of the class, I am not kidding, 25 minutes of screaming. I have a new respect for her teacher, she just carried on with the class and continued to cheer Kaylee up. Kaylee keeps telling me she won't cry next time, I will update with how the next one goes.

Other things new to our lives is Chad's new girlfriend... well at least it is feeling that way! He is gone riding on his new 4 wheeler as much as possible. He leaves about 10:00pm and will stay out untill 4:00 or 5:00am. I really have no idea how he makes through a work day after that kind of night. I have to say it is a VERY COOL 4 wheeler and we will get our money out of it.

Kaylee also got a new toy..she has been wanting to get a bike for a while and as usual I could not wait untill Christmas or her birthday! She loves it and does not even mind wearing her helmet. She has not mastered the pedaling part yet but she can push it on her tippy toes.

My Husband Rocks!!

Many of my friends have started this great thing called "My husband Rocks Friday's" I decided that my hubby also deserves at least one day a week for me to brag on him.. So here goes...
My husband Rocks because he has been so sympathetic through this whole work issue!!! As many of you know my boss Carrie left the company. She is the best Regional I have ever worked for, she and I are also close friends. Well due to her leaving there has been a major push to rearrange the portfolio. Basically, anyone who is friends with Carrie has been extremley scrutinized over the last few weeks. Needless to say it has been a roller coaster, I don't fear that I will be fired b/c I have done nothing wrong and my owners really like me. However, they have made my life and my staff's life a living hell to try and push us out. Every night I come home with a headache and emotionally drained. Chad has done so much for me including taking care of the girls dinner, bath and bed every night he has been off early.
I know this is hard on him to but he can see that I can not take anything additional on my plate and for a man to notice means a lot!!
Thank you Chad...with out you I really would be a mess. (or need zoloft!)

Family Weekend

I can't remember the last weekend Chad had off with us, seriously I have no idea when it was... And when he is finally off we always have so much to catch up on, it's either grocery shopping, school shopping, or just getting away!

Early Saturday we headed up to Hempstead, TX to visit Yogi Bears Jelly Stone Park, yes that is the real name. Our friends Neile and Biff had told us about this awesome park a couple times and we decided to load up the girls and try it out. We eneded up staying for 9 hours... there was so much to do, the girls loved every minute of it. They have a really neat Halloween Oktoberfest for the month of October, check there site out for details

http://www.campjellystone.com/camp-resorts-detail.php?campgroundID=76. We will be trying to make it back out October 17th- 19th. It is always so cool to find neat place that is both kid and adult friendly.

Big Progress

Front View

Living Room

Bonus Room

Kitchen

They have not done too much that you can see on the outside but the inside is a different story. They added sheetrock throughout the house in less than 2 days! It is nice to see walls and get a better idea of our new home. We are expecting our brick and stone to be added early next week!

We can not wait!!!!
